Approach
How we like to work

Our Approach
At Waterlily Childminding, we believe in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to learn and grow. Our approach is centered around fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive space where each child's unique needs are met with care and respect.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. This sets the standards for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to five years old in England.
How we apply EYFS
We believe in the power of play-based learning to help children reach their full potential. Our team is dedicated to providing a wide range of activities that encourage imagination, creativity, and skill-building, and strive to foster the following culture to support your child's growth and potential:

1. Individual learning
We tailor our activities to each child's needs

2. Positive relationships
We build strong, supportive relationships

3. Enabling environment
We provide a stimulating setting with diverse resources

4. Ongoing development
We use regular assessments and observations to tailor our support

Our aspirations
We are committed to providing your child with the best start in life. Our goal is to help them become confident, independent individuals who are ready to take on the world. Through our carefully designed activities and supportive and stimulating environment, we aim to create a love of learning, promote social and emotional maturity, and encourage physical health. By the time your child leaves us, we aim for them to be fully prepared for their next chapter at school. As an example, we aspire for all our children to be able to write their name by the time they leave our setting for school.
How we work with you
Our aim is to work in partnership with parents and to keep you informed about your child's progress. We use a range of methods to achieve this, including Tapestry, an online learning journal where we share regular updates, photos, and observations. We also communicate with parents during pick up and drop off, and provide periodic summaries of your child's progress. If needed, we will organise a scheduled parents meetings to discuss any concerns.

Nurturing through nutrition
We believe that healthy eating is crucial for children's development. That's why we have a trained chef in Hassan, who prepares all our food on site every day. We provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children and at least one lunch each week is a Persian based meal.
